Kathryn Terzano

Research and Background

Kathryn R. Terzano serves as the Associate Director of the Metropolitan Research Center and the book review editor for the Journal of Planning Literature. Her research focuses on the intersection of human behavior and the built and natural environments. Under this research umbrella, Dr. Terzano has studied branding and urban design in ethnic enclaves, neighborhood satisfaction in the face of commercial and residential real estate changes, and non-motorized travel behavior, preferences, and attitudes. Dr. Terzano earned a Ph.D. in City and Regional Planning and a Master of City and Regional Planning (MCRP), both from The Ohio State University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Ohio University. She has lived and worked in Washington, D.C. (Urban Land Institute), the Netherlands (International Federation for Housing and Planning), Arizona (Arizona State University), and Massachusetts (Westfield State University).
