Overview
Course Description
In this training series, you’ll gain an overview on a variety of factors involved with planning, selecting, caring for and protecting street trees. You’ll learn the basics about which types of trees will make the best street trees, how to determine placement and properly plant the trees, how to maintain and care for the trees, tree protection during construction, and how to identify and manage risk trees.
*This training series qualifies for International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) CEUs. Your ISA certification number MUST be provided to the training coordinator to receive the CEUs.
*This training qualifies for 2 MCA Education Credits, and 1 MCA Safety Credit. Attendees MUST complete and submit a MCA Webinar Confirmation Form for each type of credit: for Education - report the course as a whole; for Safety - report on the sections of the session that focused on safety.

Arborist/Horticulturist at The Trustees of Reservations
Marc Fournier is a consulting arborist. He has extensive experience in arboriculture, landscape design, sustainability, energy efficiency, building construction, recycling, organics diversion, materials management, public works, and facilities management. Marc is a Massachusetts Certified Arborist, a LEED Accredited Professional, and a member of the USDA Forest Service Urban Forest Strike Team and most recently was the Arborist/Horticulturist at The Trustees of Reservations’ Mytoi Japanese Garden.
Marc is a former Deputy Director of Public Works & Highway Superintendent in the Town of Andover, MA, Director of Plant Operations & Sustainability at Lasell College, Director of Public Works in Hull, Assistant Director for Grounds Management at UMass Amherst, Environmental Analyst with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, Senior Environmental Specialist with Haley & Aldrich, Inc., and Executive Director of WasteCap of Massachusetts.
He also taught Sustainable Operations Management courses as an Adjunct Professor in the UMass Boston College of Management Graduate MBA program.
Marc is an MBA graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst, with concentrations in Environmental Management & Organizational Behavior. Marc co-authored the sustainable operations chapters of APPA’s Grounds Operational Guidelines for Educational Facilities (www.appa.org).
