Research and Background

Dr. Barchers has practiced as a regional land use planner throughout the Southeast, mid-Atlantic and Florida. She supported joint land use-transportation planning efforts on behalf of metropolitan areas and regional planning agencies. Her current research examines how big data can be used in long range transportation-land use planning and how planners use technology to conduct public engagement efforts. She has a PhD from the Georgia Institute of Technology and an MRP and BS from Cornell University.
