CMV Be Ready. Be Buckled. Safety Belt Project
In conjunction with the Massachusetts State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Section (MSP CVES), UMassSafe conducted a project to analyze and improve safety belt usage among commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers in Massachusetts. This consisted of conducting a pre-campaign study to quantify commercial motor vehicle (CMV) safety belt usage in Massachusetts by means of a direct observation survey, conducting a public information and education (PI & E) campaign, and [supporting/collaborating to institute] high visibility enforcement. The project culminated in a CMV targeted safety programming entitled the Be Ready Be Buckled campaign.
This project was funded through a Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program (MCSAP) 2010 High Priority grant from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administrations (FMCSA).
