Massachusetts Safety Belt Usage Observation Study

The Massachusetts safety belt survey is designed to collect data on the safety belt usage rates throughout the state. Field researchers observe safety belt usage in motor vehicles including cars, pickups, vans and SUVs. The study has been conducted yearly since 2006 as part of an effort to evaluate safety belt usage in the Commonwealth as directed by the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security’s Highway Safety Division (EOPSS-HSD).
